Lacey Bates (Heffernan) is a professional dancer and educator. She holds a BA in Dance and Art Management from the College of Charleston and a MA in Education from Holy Names University. In Charleston, Lacey performed with Annex Dance Company and Dance Lab's Entertainment Company. She also had the opportunity to perform for Weird Al Yankovic and Beats Antique on their local tour stops. During her time in the San Francisco Bay Area, Lacey had the opportunity to perform with PUSH Dance Company, Visceral Roots Dance Company, Call It Art, The Collective SF, Printz Dance Project, A Pulso Dance Project, among others. Lacey was also the Co-Artistic Director of The Collective SF, a collaborative dance project in San Francisco. Lacey has been teaching dance for eleven years at various public schools, non-profits, and private studios including Shawl-Anderson Dance Center, ODC, and Alonzo King LINES Ballet. Currently, Lacey is a full time dance educator at a public school, a dancer for Elevate Performance Company, and the Artistic Director of Collective SC, a contemporary dance company based in Charleston, SC.
